Does it work? I know everyone hates when people hit "reply to all" on e-mail, but I haven't really used this thing yet, and I thought I should introduce myself to everyone. We're all stuck here, so... better to have names to go with the faces, right?

A Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) or Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) is an infection passed on during sexual intercourse. Left untreated they can result in serious health problems or death. They can be prevented by not having sex, or by using protection such as condoms.

I'm in the process of writing a leaflet with information on the practice of safe sex, which will be available in the clinic next week. To make sure no one is in for a nasty surprise, any information about STIs from your home would be beneficial.

I know like, a bunch of people just arrived so... Welcome, I guess. We're still working on the newbie's guide to waking up in a cave-city run by gods, but until then like, if you have any questions I can try and help? Also uh, it's probably safe at this point and we're just being paranoid, but you may want to avoid eating any meat products you find here. For reasons.

Also uh, sort of related, but I was thinking that maybe before next month we should really... Plan some way to help out? I mean, people just sort of show up and half the time there's monsters too, and... Maybe some sort of organized thing for helping the new people not get like, eaten or whatever would be a good idea.

[This is not exactly his area of expertise, so if other people want to take charge on this he's more than happy to let them, but otherwise he'll try and figure something out. It really seems like something important to get established.]

In uh, a rare moment of good news though, the whole coffee thing worked out. So if you want coffee there's some at Delight's bar now, though you'll have to like... Be kind of patient with me and the others being possibly terrible baristas. Still kind of getting the hang of the whole thing.

[But surely coffee itself is well worth any less-than-practiced customer service; they're at least pretty good at making coffee, including somewhat elaborate drinks, and as far as Chris is aware they're all trying. That's what counts, right?

I think that's about it, except for that like... If anyone's curious, the handheld games from the arena this month are just normal games. I thought maybe they'd be some sort of weird alien-versions of them, but I guess not; I took one apart and it was all the expected stuff inside it.

That said I'm totally betting I can beat anyone's high scores.

it's a few things:

1) fancy emoticons (before anyone asks, that's emotions + icons, pretty self-explanatory)

2) it's a japanese word: 絵文字 (e mo ji) - that means picture character

TECHNICALLY 絵文字 is also a chinese word, but i don't speak or read chinese, so i can't tell you how to say it. the word "emoji" is JAPANESE, though. and before you ask about THAT, since some of you are from who the fuck knows where, japanese and chinese share a little of their written language, but they are DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. do NOT fight me on this, DO NOT

Okay, so I totally get that some of you are turning into horrific monsters hellbent on murdering everyone. And like, I feel super bad for you and I hope that gets fixed.

But guys, I finally managed to figure out Hope's OS and I coded Pong!

You can download and play it on your phones. I just finished an option that lets you change the color of your paddles and I'm working on a multiplayer so you can link up to your friends and play against them. Maybe someday we can have tournaments!

And uh... yeah, sorry about the whole cannibalism thing. That really sucks.

[So, it's been about a day. It felt like a lot longer, especially during the night, and by now he's not just scared but incredibly bored. Sleeping isn't really a thing that's an option for lots of reasons, so he's had a lot of time to both think and reread a lot of conversations on the network; there's something that stood out to him in that time, and it lead to this post.]

Okay, so a lot of people are here without any of their friends from home, and this whole thing going on is a pretty bad time to be on your own.

[He can't imagine what it would be like being in this situation while thinking there's no one looking for and caring about you specifically. It isn't just the actual rescue that's the issue, though--especially since who gets found when is pretty unpredictable--it's that there might be people that don't have anyone to reach out to. There might be people who are totally alone in this.

So I was thinking that anyone who doesn't have anyone to talk to can just join in conversation here? People who do already have friends to talk to can too. Meeting new people is at least distracting even if everyone's probably not feeling all that friendly.

I guess just talk about whatever. What's it like back in whatever world you're from, any cool skills (if they involve getting out of being buried that's a plus,) anyone in college before they ended up here? Whatever topic is going to be better than nothing.

I mean I dunno about you guys but I definitely don't have anything better to be doing.
