Tomorrow afternoon, we're hosting a class on the clinic on how to stabilize an injured person and then safely move the body, in an environment where the dead come back to life and where there's no serious expectation of sophisticated medical care.

It's going to be utilitarian and potentially grimly upsetting, but I suggest anyone with any kind of a stomach for it come to the clinic for noon. If you're conservative about touch, please bring a partner who you trust to manhandle you in body-lifting exercises. Of course you're welcome to opt out of that portion of the day, if need be.

Please bring donations of any medical supplies, if you can.

If you're new to Hadriel in the last couple of months, I'm Doctor Banner, I'm one of the clinic volunteers. I'm not technically a medical doctor, but since we lost Doctor Pierce, beggars can't be choosers. We've already covered wound care, risk of infection, and stitches and suturing. I'm happy to link you to that material, go over any of it in person, or continue stitching lessons for anyone who needs a refresher. Sounds like Steve and the Captain America comics.

[Bruce observes, though of course that's a little different- Cap was created to be a star spangled man with a plan, a pr figure, a deliberate subject of that sort of thing.

Dean, on the other hand, seems to have just found out one day that people have read about his life.

It's on this thought that the penny drops, and Bruce's eyebrows shoot up into his hairline.]

[kickingand]

[ Dean waits for it. And waits for it.


Aaaand waits for it, and-- Oh. There it is. That moment of horrified recognition, when you've been confronted with the fact that your life is on display for mass media consumption. Dean gives a slow, heartfelt sort of nod and grimaces almost apologetically. ]

We've got movies.

Those can't be any good.

[Is his watery little prediction. He finds himself sitting down into a chair, rather suddenly.]

'Oh look, a terrible idea,' hit hit smash smash.

[kickingand]

They're great actually, I mean-- box office... smashes...

[ Dean.

He just clears his throat a little bit, not having the benefit of Sam being here to smack him upside the head when he says something utterly stupid. ]

No. No. No.

[Says Bruce, with his head in his hands, fingers working through his hair. Wow.]

Christ Almighty.

[kickingand]

[ Dean's just gonna wait it out this time and try not to say anything.

Try being the operative word.


And watch him fail. ]

Honestly, I dunno if it's something you ever get used to.

Yeah, and- do me a favour? Keep this one under your hat?

[He says, still strangled.]

I've got colleagues here who- well, we should spare them this.

[kickingand]

[ Man, Dean is only half paying attention to your request-- ]

You have colleagues here?

Just Steve, technically, but that's why I don't want to have this get around. People come here from different times in their lives, and right now Steve Rogers hasn't seen the start of his part in the war. He kind of has no idea what he's in for, or the waves that he's going to make once he becomes the Captain.

I'd like to preserve that for him.

[kickingand]

[ Alright, alright- Dean nods a few times at this reply, scrubbing his face for a moment before he finally gives in to the request. ]

You got it, no fessing up to Captain America

[He says, still a little taut- but honestly.]

It's a shame Tony isn't here any more. He would have loved this.

[kickingand]

[ Ahah. Dean almost laughs at that, shrugging kind of awkwardly. ]

Nothing like a fanclub to boost your ego. Or remind you that there's way too many crazy people in the world.

Oh my god.

[Says Bruce, and;]

I'm going to just- to just put the kettle on.

[kickingand]

Y'know, probably a good idea.

[ Tea heals all wounds. Or... so he's heard. ]

Okay. Okay, Dean.

[He says, while he moves water around.]

So you had said you had some medical knowledge?

[Reaching for normalcy.]

[kickingand]

[ Oh, okay- back to this. He sort of wobbles his head back and forth a bit, looking skeptical. ]

I mean- if you call knowing how to stitch someone up medical knowledge, sure.

That definitely jumps the very low Hadriel-bar, yeah. But I want to say again, don't use dental floss, I will give you stuff to stitch with.

[kickingand]

Look man, i'm just sayin- I know how to stitch with whatever you can give me. I'll pop shoulders back in place, too- dunno if I'd trust myself to set a break over someone else who's done it before, but i've been-there-done-that a few too many times over the course of my life.

In literally any other context I would be more concerned about that, but welcome to basically the primary medical staff of Hadriel.

[ Have an offhanded shrug - this is point blank not at all bothersome to him. Granted, he also has an angel by his side that can heal all wounds, so. Y'know. ]
