[Chris smiles and gives a small wave at the camera when the feed starts, then turns his hand to show Hope's blessing on the back of it.]

So uh, who else got one? And are they all from Hope, or...?

[This is so cool you guys he wants to see who else got what. And for something else slightly less important by still cool--]

Oh, also, my iPhone was up and working for a bit thanks to Pell, and I managed to get some music off it. I'll share on the condition no one makes fun of my taste.

[The last comment is a joke--he's really not going to be too hurt by jabs about his choice in music--but the offer is serious, and attached is a download of the music he's copied off so far. It's kind of a slow process, so there's still more on the phone that he can transfer later.]

Yeah, of course, no problem. If I can get my phone up and charged again I'll try and pull more off it in the future too.

It's yellow? On one of my legs. [She shrugs.]

How much more music do you have?

Huh. I mean, if I'm going just on colors I'd guess yellow is a happy color and so it's Delight's, but I legit have no idea. You can probably ask Hope or Delight though and I'll let you know?

Uh, a ton. My phone's got 64GB of storage and it was about half full, and most of that was music, so...

[Most of it's music he doesn't even listen to, but he wanted to fill that space with something.]

We'll see. [She's not talked to any of the Gods since she arrived. Truthfully, the idea scares her a little.

Delight's really nice, so don't uh... Don't worry too much about talking to her. She's cool.

[Chris is still pretty terrified of Fear and Rage and hasn't at all talked to Sorrow, but by this point isn't all too concerned about Hope and Delight.]

Since most of my music files are 320 kbps I think there's probably about three-thousand songs on there.

Oh. Okay. [She always means to go to the bar, but she hasn't yet.]

Three thousand? [Holy shit. And she always felt like the jukebox had quite the variety.]

Yeah. I'm uh, guessing you don't have smartphones when you're from?

[Or at least not ones like the iPhone 5 he has. Quick, no one tell him there's now a 6; he'll be jealous.]

Did they exist in 2009? I just had one of those that flips open. [She could text on it, at least.]

I'm used to CDs.

[What's with 2009 anyway? Jo is not the first person he's met here from '09 specifically.]

I think the first iPhone did, yeah, but they were ridiculously expensive for the first few years.

[Well, technically she's from 2011? But Heaven doesn't have cell phones or technology.

She nods.]

That makes sense.

[It really should have cellphones though; it'd give the angels something harmless to do.]

It only takes a few years for them to get super common though. I'm from early 2015.

[They have angel radio to communicate.]

The future must be interesting.

[True but that doesn't seem to be distracting them from poor decision making. If they were all focused on emojis and candy crush maybe things would be better ~~though to be fair they were pretty great this last season~~.]

It's pretty cool. But I mean I was like, thirteen or something in 2009 so of course 2015 is better.

[And not just for the technology. And this is of course ignoring that 2015 went utterly horribly for him personally.]

Yeah, I just turned nineteen before I got here, so uh... I guess I'm actually getting close to twenty.

[What a weird thing to think about.]

[It's okay it's just more strange than depressing.]

Yeah, almost nine months.

I didn't know anyone had been here that long.

There's um, a few people who've been here longer, I think. But I'm pretty sure me and everyone else who arrived at the same time were the second group to show up.

[As far as he knows, anyway.]

[She nods. So this place has been around for less than a year? Or have they just been bringing strangers in for less than a year?]

Any tips for a new arrival?

Yeah, maybe. Did you just get here this month?

[He can definitely try to give some useful advice, but he doesn't want to tell her stuff she already knows.]

Yep, woke up in the arena with the new monsters and the creepy body parts.

[He gives a sympathetic wince.]

Those were some pretty terrible monsters to show up with. My uh, friend Hannah got here this month too.

[Why couldn't it have been one of the months with comparatively harmless monsters?]

Okay, well, I guess I'll start with the big thing. Uh, has anyone told you that death's not permanent here?
