Hello, fellow residents of Hadriel. I'm Sato.

I'd hoped I'd have something more important to say the first time I posted anything publicly, but it turns out I just have a question for all of you.

You see, where I'm from, there's no such thing as magic. But I know that many of you are from places where it really does exist in one form or another. So to those of you out there, I'd really like to hear from you about how it works, who can learn it, and anything else you wouldn't mind sharing.

After all, with dragons flying around, this seems like as good a time as any to talk about the fantastical.

Hmm. Then for those of you that can use it, how do you cast it? Just by thinking about it?

Some of it is instinctual, reactionary... Especially for beginners with very strong powers. Other types of magic are more delicate. The more precise you need to be, the more concentration it will take. For other things, it comes as easy as breathing. Environment and other factors do contribute, of course...

Any magic could be used either way, I suppose, if you wanted it to. Selva has always used hers for defense, even when it doesn't look that way because she's going completely insane. She turns attackers into shoes, hats, blah, blah... Turns others into them to, when trying to protect them. It's a work in progress.

A lot of protection spells burn or shock the assailant. Even my shield...can throw others across a room, if used that way. I don't even want to think about what I could do by abusing my healing magic. Even I'm not that wicked.

There'd be no reason to resort to that anyway, since I'm sure that your shield is so strong that there's nothing that could possibly make it through, surely?
