Accidental Video; Horrible Roommates Being Horrible
[The video turns on haphazardly, staring up as if someone had flung it across the room and accidentally turned it on. Which, incidentally, is exactly what happened. There's a red glare as Kylo's lightsaber comes into view. He slashes at someone just out of view, missing them, and instead taking out part of the couch.]
I've had it with you! I'll make you wish you'd died as a child!
[Then his toe hits the video, sending it spinning and landing in another spot.]
Oh like I'm going to be scared of a pathetic version of Darth Vader. You have no idea how many times I wanted to abandon you on Hoth.
[There is a loud clambering as Hux got out of the way and when the video settles he can be seen with his blaster in his hand, eyes shining with a mad fury.
He raises the blaster and fires a few shots aimed at Kylo, but a few shots hit the walls and destroy the couch.
Kylo blocks the blaster shots with an almost contemptuous ease, his lightsaber twirling in front of him in a back and forth pattern. He stops the last shot in midair, sending it sailing back towards Hux.]
Is that the best you can do? My mother is a better shot, you Tarkin-wannabe.
[Now he was just hitting below the belt.]
You did not-
[Hux barely manages to dodge the reflected blast, which hit the opposite wall, leaving a deep mark. He's back on his feet to fire a few more shots with a growl of fury. He doesn't care where they land, he just wants to make Kylo suffer.]
Oh, please, you just sit and talk to your grandfather's helmet. 'I will finish what you started' - that's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. You're just an embarrassment.
[Kylo goes very still for a moment, the video's skewed perspective making him look about seven feet tall. Everything nearby him begins to rattle with the power of the Force. Then, with a roar of fury, they all lift up, and began hurling themselves at Hux.]
I have more power than you could ever dream of! You think firing off your little superweapon gives you power? You're nothing. Just a bastard who got lucky.
[Hux's expression turns ugly, he's spent his entire life being called a bastard no matter how much he tried to put his past behind him.]
My little superweapon? The superweapon I could use to command the power of the stars when I destroyed the entire Hosnian System? I destroyed the Republic, their Senate, and their entire fleet in a moment while you sulked like a litt-
[He paused suddenly as he noticed the device, walking towards it.] You idiot, you left your phone on.
[Kylo looks over his shoulder at the phone. Great. They'd just broadcast that entire argument to the network. Now everyone knows about the Hosnian System. With a frustrated growl, he picks up a nearby lamp, and throws at Hux's head, not caring if it actually connects or not.]
This is your fault, you smug moron.
[Their physical altercation is done. The bickering is far from over.]

[Action]
[It doesn't matter one way or another to him; it's merely a curiosity.]
No, you're right. Darth Sidious can project lightning from his fingertips. I wondered if Ben could do that?
[Yes Ben. Not Kylo Ren.]
Snoke... I don't recognize that name. [His mannerisms are even more suspicious.] Either he isn't as powerful as he lets on or he is waiting for the right moment to reveal himself.
[Action]
[Hux was practically drowning in the loose black pants and shirt he was wearing, he had given up trying to his clothes down by himself, it wasn't working.]
So it's true! [Hux exclaimed softly before he could help himself. It had been a rumor, no one had known Palpatine was a Sith Lord until after the Empire fell.]
Does he know that you're going to call him Ben? [He can guess as to the reason, though.]
I'm not sure what the reason is. [Either way, Hux was prepared. Snoke was useful, for now.]
[Action]
They do look a little big on you. [Poor General. Actually, no, scratch that - poor future. As he had said before "is this my legacy?". It's ridiculously depressing - though not quite as depressing as everything else he has endured. He can either mope or act.]
Yes. He never needs his lightsaber. [Truth be told, neither does Anakin.]
He told me his birth name. My daughter named him. His name is Ben Solo. [Not Kylo Ren. Family.]
I would kill him.
[Action]
I read some of his files though what remained was incomplete. Writings on the Sith and inner workings of the Empire. [Hux can't conceal the curiosity in his voice, Palpatine had always fascinated him.
Most believed that Tarkin was his only role model but he kept his studies on Palpatine carefully concealed.]
You know that I couldn't stop you. [There is no reaction, no anger when Anakin mentions killing Snoke.] Snoke forbid me, or the few who knew the truth of his former life, from speaking of his past or calling him Ben.
[Action]
Are you sure he told the truth in those? He is the master of propaganda. [Palpatine can appear in any light he chooses.] He told me once of Darth Plagueis who could influence the mid-chlorians to create life and keep his loved ones from dying.
[Is it any wonder he was drawn in by such a tale? Palpatine - Sidious - had known what buttons to press.]
His power isn't trained. It's wild and he's... Without a tether. I do not like what Snoke has done to him. [Maybe he has no position being a protector grandfather, but that is how he feels.] Palpatine urged me to do the same.
[Action]
Perhaps. These are his own records once sealed below the Imperial Palace. Granted, he could have suspected that one day that they would be found and exposed. [When it came to a Sith Lord like Palpatine, Hux wouldn't have been surprised if that were the case.][Knowing that Padme Amidala had died he was certain that had helped Palpatine sway Anakin but he didn't bring that up.] I remember only a couple of mentions of Plagueis but nothing that specific.
[Action]
[Talking about Palpatine isn't comfortable for him, but it is enlightening to hear how the future reveres him - or reviles him, rather. Anakin grits his teeth.]
He would have prepared for that. I know he is using me. [Lifting his mechanical hand, he observes the metal fingers distantly.] I never planned on being under his thumb for so long. I thought I would become like Plagueis.
[Action]
[He gestured towards the bedroom, getting up to watch Anakin as he moved towards the bedroom.]
At least, I'm sure that's what you're letting him believe. [Anakin seemed far more practical and perceptive than Ren seemed to be.] Palpatine was a great Sith Lord, what he did changed the galaxy like no one else had. But he wasn't invincible.
[Many in the First Order practically worshiped Palpatine. Hux could admire the Sith Lord's intelligence and power but he wouldn't worship the man mindlessly. He wanted to learn from Palpatine's mistakes and re-establish the Empire stronger than ever.]
It was clear in his records that he was caught up in his power as a Sith Lord and trying to acquire new secrets of the Dark Side. What they were, though, I couldn't say.
[Action]
Anakin pushes open the door and peers up at the ceiling. With a lazy wave of his hand, the tape rips and the clothes tumble down.]
I think he knows the truth. [If Padmé dies and Obi-Wan lives, he isn't sure what sort of person he will become.] I think he has a plan for it too.
A way to keep me as his servant. [For decades to come.] Power interests him. Even as Emperor, he will want more and more. He and I spoke often of...overcoming limitations set by the Jedi and even fellow Siths.
[Action]
He did strike me as someone who was resourceful. [He knew the truth of what eventually happened and he knew the Emperor had failed in those plans even if he didn't know the details of what happened on Death Star II.] If you're curious, you did succeed in wiping out the Jedi. Palpatine recruited other Force users as Inquisitors to help with the task and they were very efficient in their duties.
It's said some of the Inquisitors were actually Jedi who swore loyalty to the Emperor and the Empire but I'm not sure how true that was.
[Action]
Dangerously so. [Well there's some good news
even if part of him mourns the loss.] Yet Obi-Wan lives long enough to instruct my son. The other Jedi never concerned me as much as him.[There are too many emotions between them. His old Master knows him too well to live.]
...maybe. I was a Jedi once too.
[Action]
Did R-Ben tell you what happened to Obi-Wan? [he asked, looking at Anakin thoughtfully.]
I know. It wasn't until after the Emperor's death that it was revealed that you were Vader. Palpatine sealed your records but the legend of Anakin Skywalker survived.
[Action]
He said he died much later than he should have. [And did far more damage.]
I - If I lost... [Padmé.]
I wouldn't want to be Anakin anymore.
[Action]
Mmhm. He died 19 years after your time. [He finished folding his clothes and sat on the bed to look up at Anakin.]
[Action]
He should have died before I was publicly known as Darth Vader. [What happened to interfere?]
[Action]
I wouldn't disagree. The galaxy was stable after the last of the Jedi were dealt with.
[Action]
I'd rather he be...happy with someone. Not tearing apart an apartment over them.
[Anakin turns to the window, pushing open the curtains slightly.]
I wasn't killing him for the galaxy's sake.
[Action]
[He watched Anakin carefully, trying to read him. He was entirely unlike Ren in many ways, similar in others but he was still trying to figure Anakin out.]
I don't know what your motivations were but you did end up killing him.
[Action]
He was my Master when I was a Padawan. He saw... He knew what I have become. I expected him to seek me out.
[Action]
It seems strange he would wait 19 years.
[Action]
Few would be able to fight me. Obi-Wan would be one who might stand a chance.
[Action]
[If Anakin wanted to know then Hux would be honest with the information that he knew. He wondered why if Anakin was hurt so badly, though and Obi-Wan clearly walked away from the fight he didn't understand why Obi-Wan just hadn't finished the job instead of letting Anakin suffer. It didn't seem like a Jedi thing to do.]
That would explain why your injuries were so extensive.
[Action]
You think he did that to me?
[Action]
[There is no sympathy in his voice or expression, he doubted Anakin would have wanted it.]
It would make sense that he would try to confront you as well.
[Action]
I will relish his death. [Yes. If he says it enough, it might be true.] He hates me and I...hate him!
