If anyone saw me behaving oddly... [When doesn't he?] I was drunk. I won't be doing that again. [Because it resulted in a dislocated arm, a bitten tongue and lots of bruising.]

I didn't mean - I didn't want to - [He grits his teeth, frustrated.] I can't remember if I hurt anyone. I'd like to say I wouldn't, but -

[He has all the skills necessary to see to hurting just about anyone. Or worse.]

[Hux doesn't believe the 'I won't do it again' for a second. He knows Kylo Ren and he's observed enough about Anakin's behavior to know that's not going to happen.]

[Everyone has such little faith in him! His arm is still immobilized and he is a bruised mess. At the moment even the thought of alcohol turns his stomach.]

I have had closer calls. I figured what might help you best, and it seems to have worked, though you got hurt.

{A small frown, the Elf's brow creases.} Sore? Have you been resting? Forgive me, I should have checked on you sooner.

Getting hurt gave me some clarity. [He winces and leans back in his chair.] Its always been that way unfortunately. I never stop until I hit a wall at full speed.

[His gaze sharpens.] None of that, Maedhros. It's bad enough that I dragged you into all of it. I deserve every ache.

Sounds dark. [Do tell him about dreams being crushed.] I'm not sure dreams are meant to last anyway.

[Since all of his seem to go down the crapper. Not that he's going to lay down and lose them; he will fight.]

The circumstances became overwhelming. I can guard myself better.

I am often the same way. {Wry.} Keep going until we can go no further or are stopped - one way or another.

{Maedhros smiles a little.} If you recall, I am the one who picked you up and carried you off. I could have turned away. But Anakin, you are a friend, and I am not one to leave a friend alone when I see them in need. Perhaps you should visit the hot springs again? If they are still around...

Do you think it's genetic? My mother was stubborn, but not like me. [He snickers and tilts his head to the side.] So you did pick me up. I thought I remembered that.

[He had enjoyed it a little too much at the time. How embarrassing.] Yeah, I might look for them. My arm needs another week of rest and it should be back to normal.

Because of humans? [He really only has himself, the Force and the Jedi to blame for his predicaments. No big deal.] Huh. You make a good point.

[Emotions are his greatest strength and his worst weakness. Love in particular breaks him down like no other.]

They went too far. I was miserable and I had nothing to drown it out.

In part, and the rest is learned - often from our parents and those around us. {Maedhros grins.} You did not seem to mind. I have carried Elflings who protested more!

I only had one parent. [His is a special case, but he has a feeling Maedhros is right. He learned how to be stubborn to survive on Tatooine and he was ambitious because it was the only way he could ever imagine escaping that hell.] You gave me a nice view.

...reminded me someone. They reminded me how I used to feel; how I still feel for them. But I know I can't save them.

Not...as I am. There has to be another way. I just...haven't found it.

Who probably loves you with all their being. Alive or passed on, I expect that remains true. {A soft, fond chuckle.} If it helped keep your stomach less upset, I am glad.

You could be a slug and I would still happily keep you company. {A teasing grin!} A fact with which I am pleased to agree!

[Well. She could tell Anakin had issues from day one, and still regards him as a friend, teacher, and fellow combat instructor. Still, that's a bit concerning if he got so drunk that he can't remember what he did.]

Perhaps another outlet would be beneficial?

[Shadow is right on the money and Anakin doesn't avoid saying "wife" or "Padmé" because he's somehow ashamed or frightened; he avoids saying those words because his heart feels like it's going to cave in on itself each time he even thinks of them.]

You're too nice for your own good. That's why your dreams are crushed. [Those who are brutal and emotionless seem to thrive, breaking those who give a damn under their feet.] I miss her. My grandson made it clear I'm going to lose her. I won't even know my children.

Everything I've done is to prevent that from happening, but it happens anyway.

She died because I couldn't save her. She died because I left her behind to train with the Jedi. If I were her, I wouldn't love me anymore. [And oh that hurts. His mother had been his whole world once. His galaxy, in fact.]

Yeah, it worked. [Maedhros.]

A slug would never have my personality. [Or his skills. He's a proud, ridiculously young Man.] I'll set out this evening if that's alright?

[More than a bit concerning. Any reminder of Padmé; of the life he had and will lose is enough to push him to the brink of his sanity.]

Any suggestions? I fought some monsters and that was going well until one threw me.

I hope so. He's sulking in my room, he likes to hide in Ren's clothes sometimes.

Too bad we don't have droids, hm? [That might not be a bad project.] Poor thing. I'll go get him out before Ben has to rewash all his clothes to get rid of the cat hair.

[So she's seeing from his conversation with Shadow. Even the fact that he was thrown with all of that power and skill that he has is a very good indication that something's very wrong here.]

Art, literature and music are all excellent methods of self-expression. Art and music are helpful for training the senses, as well.

I believe I'm saying this but I miss mouse droids. I would even take an older model.

[He'll help with that, he misses his droids.] I don't think he minds it, he said he's determined to make Eclipse like him better than he likes me.
