004 [Video] | Forward dated to like the 19th
[Connor is normally all 'important business' when he talks to the network, and to be fair that's going to be a part of this broadcast. However, there's something much more important to address first.
So the broadcast starts off by showing a clear bin--some sort of small tupperware or plastic container with damaged edges and no lid--filled with water, in which sits a glass shark. But it only sits for a few seconds, then gives a little wiggle like it's doing its best to swim, bumping its glass nose gently into the side of the container. It continues this still, then little swim, then still again pattern for a few repetitions until Connor picks up the phone to address the network properly.
As usual he has a hat covering his LED, but he's back to the beanie he'd bedazzled a few months ago; it has a big dipper on it, and it's awesome. Connor looks a little brighter than usual, even if it might be hard to tell, because he loves this event so far omg.]
Has anyone else noticed strange behavior from objects around them?
[And has it been this cute for anyone else, because this is cute and he wants the shark to stay this way forever please. Not really having many possessions or even furniture is working out for him this event.
But more seriously--]
It's been a few months since I last addressed the network about acquiring medical supplies for those who aren't human or near-human, and it seems we've had several new arrivals in that time who may need them. However, because these needs might be very individualized, those with specific requirements should make them known in advance so we can try to get any necessary supplies in stock.
If you're concerned about privacy you could respond anonymously, or leave a note or message at the Lab. Otherwise, just contact me with details of what you might need.
[That all said, broadcast over; Connor has to go come up with a name for his temporarily animate shark.]

No. There's something much more pressing here. ]
did you show up here in that outfit?
[ If she knew him, she'd give him shtit for the beanie, but a) she is only just meeting him and b) it's kind of cool because it's clearly very accurate? ]

as if he actually has one yetbut they're also just for show anyway, and not really that important. But he knows fashion means quite a bit to humans and some other species as well, so he'll just control the exasperation for now.]
Parts of it. Some items were found here.
[The jacket and jeans are from home, but he's found a different shirt and of course the bedazzled beanie; the plain one is still around somewhere just in need of washing.]

it's just
like, i don't know you, but i can tell the shops here have so not been kind to you
the beanie's pretty nice though
[ Emily's priorities are fine water u talking about. ]

Thank you.
I didn't think it was worth the time and supplies necessary to ask for something custom made, especially when I can find things that fit well enough despite being apparently unfashionable.
[Since she's not the first to say as much.]

i also mod stuff i find in the shops
but you do you, not like it matters here
cool shark btw

Thanks. I found it in a shop several months ago.
[And it was basically the first thing he's ever owned, so that's definitely some sentimental value. Even if it weren't, though, it's just really really cute.
But he can't help but be curious about the rest of what she said--]
You modify what you find? In what way?

if i find a shirt i like but it has sleeves for three arms, i cut the extra sleeve and patch it so it fits me. if something's too big, i take it in. if i find two pieces i like that are too small and dont clash too badly, i put then together
things like that. it's all by hand, so it takes fucking forever, but it passes the time, and i like doing it
you don't know a lot about clothes, do you. like, at all
[ Tone doesn't come across in text, but she's not being disfainful there. She's curious. Where is he from? How lobg has he been here? How done is he with Hadriel already? ]

So it's neat to hear about someone who does it themselves, and it's clear she knows what she's doing, so that's all interesting to him.]
Is that difficult here, with such limited choices?
[He imagines it is, which makes it more impressive. But as for her last comment--]
Clothing and fashion are not my areas of expertise.
[Aside from knowing how to look elegant and professional in order to use that to his advantage in his work, he has practically no skill in this area. Even what he does know is dependent on his usual CyberLife uniform, which is shoved in the back of a closet in his apartment right now.]

oh god yeah. we used to get fabric from delight, but now tranquility's our god for that. any time i see, like, a needle or thread in the shops, i grab it. you take what you can get
[ Damn right she's impressive. ]
im finding it's not a lot of people's area tbh. there aren't like classes on it or anything where i'm from. you have to learn on your own, from magazines and tv and interviews. people talk shit about caring about clothes that much but like, the amount of time and drive it takes to learn it all is so not small
so im not surprised, and i can like, advise you if you want
