Hey, guys.

[Tranquility sounds tired, worn out, a little defeated.]

Thanks for coming for me. That's not how I would've wanted it to go down, but... well, I'm here now. And at least Delight started fighting for us again there at the end. Everything she did, as bad as some of it was, was to try to keep us safe in her own misguided way.

I'm gonna miss her.

Anyway, we're kind of in a crappy position now. The Null are almost certainly gonna track her essence, the parts that ended up here. So we've gotta move, but we're running out of options and time. They've killed one of us already, and they were going to kill me. We've gotta decide how we want to play this. Your lives are on the line here, too, just as much as ours. Maybe more.

Wherever we go, the Null are gonna find us sooner or later. It kinda comes down to whether we want to try to strike against them first, or whether we want to find a more defensive location and shore up, wait for them to come to us. We have a few different options in terms of locations, some of which we've been to before and some we haven't. Thanks to a bunch of you guys, I have a lot of information about where the Null forces are, which places will be less safe or more safe, so take that into consideration.

There's a file attached to this with the info I've collected from you, and from what we already knew. Take a look at it - or don't, I'm not the boss of you - and let us know where you want to go.

Hey everybody. Me and some people from the lab caught a host. This actually happened a couple weeks ago but we've uh been busy.

We were going to collect some data and do some testing and crap on it but it freaked out on us as soon as we got it into the cage. Between that and the info Nate and his team found I thought it was best to just uh send it straight over to Hope.

We did soooort of manage to communicate with it first? Not me. That was all Shigeru and Alphys. Seems like they can only communicate through like... Telepathic emotions? It's bizarre. Never seen anything like it. The gist of what we got is that they're scared of us. Go figure.

It was super thrilled when we took it to Hope though. They make these little squeaking noises when they're happy? It's great. It had a sort of godlike effect in that everyone could feel it being happy once we got it into the temple.

Anyway we let it go and I guess it's gonna try to spread the good news about Hadriel not being full of total assholes. If you see any more of these guys, don't attack them. They're only lashing out because they don't know what to make of us. Hell maybe the attacks will stop now that we've communicated with one.

Oh we do have a way to track down the host again should that become relevant. I'm not broadcasting more than that because no offense I don't trust everyone in town not to hunt down the hosts and mess with them. They've been through enough. But if you have good intentions stop by the lab and we might be able to help you out. We also still have all the equipment we used to catch them and if more come into town and start attacking people we could try to catch the hostile ones and point them in Hope's direction.

That's about it I guess? Wait no one more thing we took a selfie lol.

[He attaches a picture of the whole group huddled around a happy, flailing host. Hope and Sorrow are presumably standing off to the side and judging our weird human traditions but maybe that's just the way their faces look idk if they're actually there.]

So yeah hit me with questions if you have them. Everyone who helped out with this: feel free to weigh in too. Thanks guys.

[ooc: Big thank you to the players of the characters involved! That'd be George, Michael, Scott, Alphys, Cecily, Cashmere, Steak, Red Wine, Shigeru, Rosen, Sora, and Riku! Like Newt says above, all of you feel free to chime in with responses to this post!

Also, ICly Newt and the others don't yet know that Hope is gonna ask everyone to round up the hosts later in the month, but this is gonna be an open call to anyone who would like to get in on Host Capture Round Two once Hope does announce that. I won't do another network post for that, so feel free to use this post as incentive to hit up Newt/the rest of the team to join the party.

AND FINALLY here's the OOC info!]

Right. Okay. We need to get in front of this and make a plan. I'm the one who has to put my neck out there so I'm the one who has to talk about options.

If they've got Tranquility, they're probably using him in their machines as a power source until we get there. Now, if we can forget that this is all Sorrow's fault for a minute here, we've got to come up with a plan and he has some pretty good ones, so- here goes I guess.

First option is do nothing. We sit on our thumbs and probably let Tranquility die, but it means that we won't be handing over their ally and it means that we won't be playing into whatever trap they're setting for us. As much as I don't want to advocate for this one... well, if they're setting a trap and they want me there, I don't like my chances of walking away from it. This is probably the safest option, but- damn.

Second option is to go ahead with the transfer. I go with some of you, we give them Delight, we hope that they don't trap or kill us during the whole ordeal and get three gods for the price of one. I don't like this at all, but this is probably the best way to get Tranquility back safely- if we don't do this one then I can't guarantee that he'll make it out of there.

And the third was presented by Rage herself. If we assume that they're going to trap us, we go there and trap them instead. Rage can disguise herself to look like Delight and we go through with the transfer. They'll be expecting Delight to work with them- I hope- and so we'll launch a surprise attack during the exchange with Rage's help. We take them out, save Tranquility, keep Delight. If they're expecting this then we lose, big time- but if they're not, then we could win out more here than otherwise.

I don't... I don't really like any of these options. There's risking myself and then there's being stupid- but what other option do we have? I'll hear your concerns or alternate ideas if you have them, as well as any volunteers to go with me.

It doesn't need to be said that if we die at the meeting point... well, Hope won't be able to gather our essences or your bodies for a resurrection when it's so deep into the Null territory. For all intents and purposes, a death there would be permanent. Keep that in mind while you make your choice.

[Connor is normally all 'important business' when he talks to the network, and to be fair that's going to be a part of this broadcast. However, there's something much more important to address first.

So the broadcast starts off by showing a clear bin--some sort of small tupperware or plastic container with damaged edges and no lid--filled with water, in which sits a glass shark. But it only sits for a few seconds, then gives a little wiggle like it's doing its best to swim, bumping its glass nose gently into the side of the container. It continues this still, then little swim, then still again pattern for a few repetitions until Connor picks up the phone to address the network properly.

As usual he has a hat covering his LED, but he's back to the beanie he'd bedazzled a few months ago; it has a big dipper on it, and it's awesome. Connor looks a little brighter than usual, even if it might be hard to tell, because he loves this event so far omg.]

Has anyone else noticed strange behavior from objects around them?

[And has it been this cute for anyone else, because this is cute and he wants the shark to stay this way forever please. Not really having many possessions or even furniture is working out for him this event.

But more seriously--]

It's been a few months since I last addressed the network about acquiring medical supplies for those who aren't human or near-human, and it seems we've had several new arrivals in that time who may need them. However, because these needs might be very individualized, those with specific requirements should make them known in advance so we can try to get any necessary supplies in stock.

If you're concerned about privacy you could respond anonymously, or leave a note or message at the Lab. Otherwise, just contact me with details of what you might need.

[That all said, broadcast over; Connor has to go come up with a name for his temporarily animate shark.]

I'll get right to the point.

Anyone who didn't see my conversation with Hope, he recognized Harlan's picture of the creatures that attacked during the stampede. They may be the former inhabitants of this city, or their descendants, or just a species related to the one that the gods called hosts. Maybe they escaped the Null's genocide, maybe they defected, we have no way of knowing unless we can communicate with one. And the gods can speak to them.

That means if they come back, I think we should try to contain one. Take them alive but try not to get slaughtered in the process -- it sounded to me like they were scouting, and usually that means the enemy comes back in numbers and we already know their shells are very sturdy. We'll need to be ready. If anyone has ideas, now's the time. I'm really more used to killing things that don't surrender but we'll need both containment and defense.

Oh and if anyone's managed to get into those bunker-looking doors out on the way to the mountains, let me know? I'm curious if there are clues about whether or not the hosts were using them to hide from the Null. Hopefully our not being invaded means these guys aren't allied with them, but more information never hurts.

 Ah...there...

[The screen shakes a little as Semiyon settles it into place on the windowsill]

Good evening. It is likely that you do not know me but this is not important. My name is Semiyon Kleiman and I am hoping to...well...to start a sort of business. Or perhaps it is better to call it an organization.

[He waves a hand dismissively, the specific wording isn't all that important.]

That is, a place for entertainment. Card games, for example...perhaps with something at stake.... [gambling is the word he's dancing around] and perhaps sports more interesting for those who have pent up energy and frustration that has little outlet in this place. Perhaps something along the lines of boxing or wrestling...whatever people might prefer.

[Though in reality he is envisioning something more of a fight club rather than a regulated boxing match.]

At the moment all of this is purely in the hypothetical, I simply wanted to see who among us might be interested or who might even be skilled enough to help me make such a thing a reality.

If perhaps you are one of these people, do feel free to let me know.
