[Connor is normally all 'important business' when he talks to the network, and to be fair that's going to be a part of this broadcast. However, there's something much more important to address first.
So the broadcast starts off by showing a clear bin--some sort of small tupperware or plastic container with damaged edges and no lid--filled with water, in which sits a glass shark. But it only sits for a few seconds, then gives a little wiggle like it's doing its best to swim, bumping its glass nose gently into the side of the container. It continues this still, then little swim, then still again pattern for a few repetitions until Connor picks up the phone to address the network properly.
As usual he has a hat covering his LED, but he's back to the beanie he'd bedazzled a few months ago; it has a big dipper on it, and it's awesome. Connor looks a little brighter than usual, even if it might be hard to tell, because he loves this event so far omg.]
Has anyone else noticed strange behavior from objects around them?
[And has it been this cute for anyone else, because this is cute and he wants the shark to stay this way forever please. Not really having many possessions or even furniture is working out for him this event.
But more seriously--]
It's been a few months since I last addressed the network about acquiring medical supplies for those who aren't human or near-human, and it seems we've had several new arrivals in that time who may need them. However, because these needs might be very individualized, those with specific requirements should make them known in advance so we can try to get any necessary supplies in stock.
If you're concerned about privacy you could respond anonymously, or leave a note or message at the Lab. Otherwise, just contact me with details of what you might need.
[That all said, broadcast over; Connor has to go come up with a name for his temporarily animate shark.]

[THROW ALL THE SHADE. But for the next part he toggles the privacy settings with a brief touch to the screen, before adding--]
It is. I like it; aside from humans, a fish was the first living creature I had contact with.
[And so some part of him is partial to them.]

Fish are relaxing to watch, but they don't give too much back. Hard to interact with them. But I always liked the fish tank they had at the bait shop. There was this bubbling thing and the fish would ride the bubbles up to the surface, swim back down and do it again.
Is anything else in your place alive now? Or just the little shark?
no subject
At the question he comes back to the conversation, shaking his head.]
I have very little in the apartment, and as far as I'm aware it's just the shark. I haven't spent much time here, however.
[So it's possible he just hasn't seen something; for instance if the beds are alive he'd have no idea, since he hasn't been in either bedroom in some time.]
Is it just your mug for you?
no subject
[ And therefore his favorite.]
My bed is grumbling, but not doing much else so it's easy to ignore. I had to lock my shovel in a closet because it starting singing.

[Since when can shovels sing, even animate? He's fascinated by this idea, and also has to ask--]
What was it singing?
no subject
Old songs from the fifties. Or trying to anyway, it's not making any words. More like... humming aggressively.
[And after Pratt nearly had a heart attack that it was going to start singing "Only you" he wrapped it in towels and put it somewhere he can't hear it.]
