[Souji is quite visibly concerned about this, his expression creasing with a deep frown. He is keenly aware of how these kinds of bargains can go horribly wrong, because these are exactly the sort of deals in which the demon he became on his first Jaunt traded.]

Yeah. Depends on who you're dealing with. Delight's pretty harmless. [She may go overboard on the making people happy thing (her revival was... fucking exhausting, honestly. But she's okay.] Fear is... I'd be wary of him. Rage too, unless you like pissing people off.

[Souji shakes his head - making people angry just isn't on his agenda, ever.]

How do you know they're not trying to take advantage of you? Even Delight?

Oh, no, they totally are. It's not a secret. They feed off the emotion they're named after, no matter how fucked up what they try to make us do is. I like Delight, though, because at least what she wants is good for both of us.

Are you sure about that? Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, it's just - I've dealt with people like that before. People who claimed they wanted what was best for both of us.

[He was one of those people, in the Jaunt where he became a demon. He shakes his head.]

I didn't say it's the best for both of us. It just works, most of the time. [She's aware that sounds weak, even naive. But god, she's been here too long to care, in some ways. Delight feeds off her happiness, and happiness is so hard to come by.

Delight has made her a fucking drug addict. Fabulous.]

They probably don't give a shit about us at all, but they need us alive in order to stay alive themselves.
