第4: [text] lost in translation

((OOC: Collected misfires etc sent from Emily's phone to just about everyone. They will all be in the comments to this entry.

UD house and anyone around Emily at the time when a totemo kawaii text gets sent will hear angry swearing.

PM (unfollowing) or PP (punnyinpink) me if you want a text from Emily during the event, regardless of whether or not your character has CR with her. What better way to meet Em than through Rage's fuckery?? 8D))

[ Whatever Newton typed, this abomination is what she receives: ]

[ Indeed: German leetspeak that would translate to, 'Miss Emily,

You hardly needed it. Excellent work. I'll have an additional assignment in the morning. It should be entertaining.' ]

text -> voice

[ No less horrified by his own transmission (unfortunately able to understand both leet and German), once Newton translates the response, Hermann knows he ought to give it up entirely.

Certainly, his preferred method of communication, the text, cannot be trusted. If it's inputting something completely different, why should voice be any different? Why even video?

Yet, video's his least favored, so he attempts to apologize and test the voice. ]

Hello? Listen, let's give this up. I assume you never intended to message me to start.

[ Unfortunately?

Yeah.

just this. ]

[ Video's been safest to date, the message audible and comprehensible, though the image distorted. Only, he's beginning to feel an aggrieved, irritated futility at the thought of switching merely to bleat the obvious.

Best to stop without trying to say it. It'll be understood. Perhaps he'll send something when all this has finished -- but perhaps not. That would be more of the obvious about communication neither of them wanted.

Hermann almost deletes the conversation, but thinks better of touching any part of it. Instead he puts his phone aside. ]
