i'm aware i asked this a few months ago, but now i actually have materials to get started, so i'm asking again:

does anyone know how to sew? hand stitching, specifically. i now have really nice cotton (thank you, delight!!!) that we can make clothes with

right now, we have a bolt of white cotton fabric. if you want a different color, tell delight a happy memory, and she'll give us more fabric. but don't, like, dogpile her or anything. be nice, for fuck's sake

[ yeah, clothes are hardly the worst problem here, but Emily wasn't joking when she said the clothes around here were itchy and uncomfortable. So, if there's a solution, Kate will take it.

Even if that means awkwardly having to spill nice memories to Delight. Definitely one of the better forfeits, at least. She walks in, carrying a roll of bright yellow fabric under her arm and looking completely unreadable.

... And instead of saying a word, she is just going to dump the roll on a table. ]

[The fabric falls onto the table with a thud, and Emily jumps, eyes wide as her gaze darts around the shop until they fall on the (hopefully harmless) source of the noise. Sighing sharply, she scowls.]

[This kid... this kid was in Emily's dream. This kid encouraged her to kill Mike and Jess in revenge for their betrayal. This kid witnessed an anger that Emily hasn't truly felt in a long time.

And now this kid is here to do some sewing.

Considering the only stitching I know how to do is for mending things, I'm not sure I'll have a leg to stand on to judge you. [She nods to the collection of needles, thread, and scissore on the table, all of them within reach of the bolt of fabric. The yardstick is closer to Emily, who has been attempting to sketch out patterns for a while now with moderate success.] Help yourself.

Have you considered dying the cotton? If there aren't fabric dyes within the stores, I know a couple of natural dyes made with food!

[ Pell doesn't bother replying in text beforehand, just notes the location on the map and sets out to get some of his own supplies... namely the shitty clothes from a different shop, so that they have something to base patterns off of. He shows up with a few things draped over his arm and a faint smile on his face; it's good to have something to do with someone again. Since Peter and Newt disappeared he's been gardening alone, and while it's something to do the quiet gets to him. He's not used to being on his own. ]

[Now there's a voice Emily could stand to hear more often. That, plus the mood she's in thanks to getting this fabric, bring a smile to her face, one that reaches her eyes. How long has it been since she smiled like that?]

Pell! Over here. [She waves, then gestures to the table she's sitting at, where assorted sewing supplies are carefully arranged by the bolt of fabric she got from Delight.] It took a few months, but finally there's some good fabric to work with.

[She remembers their first conversation, how he'd told her he knows how to sew, how he'd had an eye for color.

She also remembers he was in one of her dreams, but that doesn't bother her too much right now. If it were to come up, she could always say Fear twisted something scary into something terrifying. No big deal.]
