[ hey, look, it's a picture of a brightly colored phallic fruit from Sorrow's orchard.  it's laid out  on a cutting board next to a second brightly colored phallic fruit that has been cut into, and clearly chewed up and spit out.  next, is a selfie of ashley, her nose wrinkled in disgust. ]

The only room this 'fruit' could possibly be used in is the bedroom!!!

[ and several minutes after the post occurs, out in hadriel, in the ud house, ashley screams in horror. that was not at all what she wrote. someone save her. call ghostbusters! burn the phone!  oh god, or maybe just kill her! ]

Do you need any help experimenting with things for dye?

[cowardley]

I wouldn't want you to have too much on your plate, but... [ experimenting with the dyes is a fairly time consuming effort, so many little things to keep track of. ] I could use the help, for sure. There are so many variables, and to get the exact color, both time and the solution we're soaking the fabric in has to be precise each time.

[ it's quite a messy, time consuming process. ]

I think I'd be good at that, actually. And I've got spare time.

May I come by? I've been over before, if you live with Emily and Chris.

Oh, yeah, sure. You've already got the address, so just pop on in. Uhm, as long as you don't mind the mess in the kitchen.

[ forewarning him of her disastrous mess of fruits, vegetables, and boiling pots of water and vinegar (there's definitely a distinct tang to the air of the house, something she's sure her housemates aren't a fan of). ]

I don't mind. I'll see you soon.

[ And sure enough, there's a knock at the door about fifteen minutes later. ]

[ Ash answers the door fairly quickly, but prefaces it with a 'one moment' as it takes her moment to clean her hands (as well as she can) of the current dye she's working on (the color is far more indigo than the plant itself, but it's a pretty color, if a bit dark).

She smiles, politely, and steps aside to allow him entrance before leading him to the kitchen area. The room is quite a bit of a mess, but a mess that's been organized and tidied as she'd worked. There are only two different plants that have been taken apart, along with a pile of bark from a few of the trees (she'd been careful not to take too much so as to kill them). There are pots of water, and vinegar on to boil, and the scent is a little overpowering—though Ash has sort of gotten used to it. ]

Welcome to my laboratory! [ She says, dramatically, but with a smile. There are several notebooks filled with a delicate handwriting, a simple glance will tell Pell that it's just extensive documentation on her progress. It's clear she's been a busy little worker. ]

Uh, sorry for the smell. I probably should have given you a warning on that one.

Thank you. And I don't mind the smell, I bet I'll adjust.

[ He looks everything over closely, trying to get a feel for her method. None of the plants are identifiable, but that's not surprising if they came from the new orchard. ]

It reminds me of the experiments with herbs my first teacher used to do. You take excellent notes... I guess I should ask what colors you're looking for and how are the results turning out?

Oh, thank you! [ She takes a quick glance at her notes; they're organized, and written finely. If she were an artist of any sort, she'd include sketches rather than just in depth descriptions, but art was never her forte. ] I'm actually just attempting to document the base color of each plant, and if it's going to be a useful dye or not—some of them don't adhere to the fabrics well, even with a proper fixative.

[ There's been a lot of experimentation with fixatives because not all of the fruits, vegetables, and berries she's found adhere to normal Earth rules when it comes to the natural dying process. ] It's mostly been a lot of chopping, boiling, and setting things aside to wait, though.
