Hello, everyone! I wanted to let you know that the Sewing Shop is open for business. Please stop by if you need your garments mended or if you need something new that you can't find in the shops. I know how hard it is to find things that fit properly there.

I'm also available to give sewing lessons should you wish to learn! It's a very useful skill to have, especially here where anything can happen.

--seven! [she laughs] That is a lot of boys. Loras was trouble enough and there was only one of him, I can't imagine being one of seven boys.

Indeed? You must have run your parents ragged.

[bythewaves]

We probably did. [ Maglor laughs softly, fondly ]

But we never lacked company, at the least. I don't think any of us understood what loneliness was like.

[ Until there was no one left but Maglor ]

Your poor mother! [she also laughs]

I know that feeling. Loras was only two years younger than I am. I can't remember a time where he wasn't at my side. At least, not until we arrived in King's Landing.

[bythewaves]

She didn't seem to mind? [ He grins ]

Although there were times...

[roseofthetyrells]

Still, I can't even imagine seven pregnancies. Two or three would be perfect, so that you have an heir and another child or two in case something should happen to your heir, but seven?

Oh? What kinds of times?

[bythewaves]

Only six, for my youngest brothers were twins, but I'm not sure if that makes things any better!

[ He grins ]

Oh you know... breaking things, random animals in the house...

[roseofthetyrells]

Twins! One baby would be enough to handle!

[she grins back]

It sounds like you and your brothers got up to a lot of mischief. It must have been a lot of fun. I, of course, never did any such things.

[bythewaves]

Fortunately our parents had us there to help, although us older ones were all but grown and not often home, by then.

[ He raises an eyebrow at her ] Ah, really? None at all? Or none that you will admit to?

[roseofthetyrells]

I have to ask how much child-minding you had to do. The thought of you surrounded by little ones is adorable.

[she gives him an innocent look] Well. . . when it rained, my cousins and I would often excuse ourselves from our lessons and go out to dance and play.

[bythewaves]

Enough! [ He smiles fondly at the memory ]

But I was mostly away in Alqualonde, when the Ambarussa was born, so it fell on poor long-suffering Maedhros, for the most part, to be the responsible one, although he was himself busy in court, by then. I think that Caranthir was their primary caretaker, my poor serious brother, who never liked noise!

[roseofthetyrells]

I suppose I got lucky. I never really had to mind Loras. But then, the two of us were destined for very different things. We spent time together when we could, though.

[she laughs] Really? Oh no! Knowing children, they likely got jelly on everything he didn't want jelly on.

[bythewaves]

More like custard. [ He shudders ]

Although they also had the dubious distinction of being the only one of us who managed to set fire to the garden, by accident.

[roseofthetyrells]

Custard? Milk and eggs! Ugh! [she makes a face]

Is that so? Do I even dare ask how that happened?

[bythewaves]

We were never able to get them to confess! But we think they must have been trying out one of the chemistry sets. That tended to be how most of the more... er... destructive accidents around the house happened.

[roseofthetyrells]

I think my family should be grateful that such things were kept firmly locked up in the maester's quarters. Otherwise, Loras and I would have gotten up to some mischief.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor laughs ]

Oh, the dangerous stuff was kept in father's forge, I'm sure. But between Curufin and Father, there was always bits and pieces of things everywhere. The Ambarussa weren't the only family members to start a fire! Just the only ones to manage to do so in the garden. Most of the other accidents were where you expect them to be.

[teasingly]

I wouldn't know where I'd expect them to be. I was a very well behaved child. Most of the time.

[bythewaves]

Oh, you know. The forges. The kitchen. [ Maglor twinkles at her ]

Places where bored young minds might find things that go boom. Ask Curufin, sometime!

[roseofthetyrells]

The kitchens! I'd imagine that the cooks were displeased.

Bored! But what of your lessons? And I shall.

[bythewaves]

Quite possibly. [ He grins ] Although soem days the cook was my father, and it was possibly his fault.

Lessons could involve anything, after all.

[roseofthetyrells]

So your father encouraged your mischief! I can't imagine my father doing such a thing.

Oh, such as add this to that and get an explosion?

[bythewaves]

He did. [ Maglor laughs ]

He could hardly say no, when he was himself prone to random explosions while experimenting!

[roseofthetyrells]

Really? [she laughs] I'm trying to picture my father exploding things and I just can't. He was too caught up in appearances.

[bythewaves]

Father was an experimenter and an inventor. He was always flitting from one thing to another. He was always the best and brightest of us.

[roseofthetyrells]

While all mine did was "lay siege to the buffet table" at Storm's End during Robert's Rebellion.

[she says wryly]
