Video 9 - Sewing Shop (dated an hour after Lance's post)
[while Margaery may be in her usual place in the Sewing Shop, that's not what she's choosing to address. not this time.
sure, she's dressed up as usual, she has her sword laid across her lap and visible in the frame of the video.
she's also not wearing her usual bright smile. instead, her expression is deadly serious]
As I'm sure we're all aware, the demon has been temporarily been . . . put out of commission. Now, this is not the place to debate the wisdom of vigilante justice. Dr. Sweets appears to have that well in hand. No, what this is is the place to discuss what measures may be taken to prevent the demon from taking its rage out on the entirety of Hadriel.
The gods will do nothing. Tranquility told me himself that they will only take action if they themselves are threatened. So we're left to fend for ourselves. We must make our plans ourselves and it would be far better to have those plans coordinated well in advance of its release.
So I am directing this to anyone who has ideas for what to do when the demon is inevitably released back into the populace. Surely there are those with powers or skills which could prevent it from going on a murderous rampage. Now is the time for those people to step forward and offer their ideas.
Thank you for your time and attention.

she hasnt gone on a murderous rampage since that shit w. the demons a few months back.
goin after her w. torches and pitchforks is stupid.
if ur really set on a preventative approach ill just fuckin talk to her when she thaws out.
text
That wasn't what I was proposing at all.
Preventative measures are fine, as long as it keeps it from hurting others.

And her name is Caedra. [(-ya)]

Wouldn't retaliation from her be justified, at least toward the person that froze her? At what point in the back and forth is it called even?
[Just saying; someone did attack her, so why can't she get her own revenge on them? Not that he's really interested in seeing that, but it does sound a little familiar.
So does something else, which some of the others have mentioned already, but it stands out to him and he can't ignore it himself--]
And she isn't an 'it' just because she isn't human.

I have listened to what has been said. I have gone back and read what has been written.
[ Her expression is serious. ]
If she will not contain her vengeance to the one who attacked her, then I will challenge her to Mak'Gora. The ancestors will choose a righteous victor.
[hers is steady. she's unaffected by what was said to her. she endured Cersei Lannister and months in one of the Faith's cells. this is nothing]
Your bravery is appreciated. But please be aware that the demon is a strong opponent.

Miss. You've been quite cold to some friends of mine.

As they have been to me. And thus the cycle of cruelty continues. Do you intend to add to it?

[He and Margaery are friends, and she's a lady of Westeros. It distresses him that he can't protect her from this, or anyone else -- not really. There should be some sort of action he can take. There isn't, and from time to time, the inaction gnaws at him.
Though not everything he's seen Caedra say has offended him. At times, she seems reasonable.]
But it takes more than I can do. Treating with her won't help, my sword won't help. What then?
[private]
I truly don't know. Perhaps when it is released, we should simply barricade ourselves in our house and hope that it's too busy elsewhere.

[And he wishes he did; all he's got is "appoint an executive power with the authority to make these kinds of decisions," and "everyone hang around killing Caedra and/or anyone like her every time she revives," and those are obvious non-starters.]
But as things stand now, would you care to have the wards on your home and shop renewed? My cousins or I could do that easily enough.
Voice
[things were so much easier back in Westeros. in Westeros, there were no such things as demons and those who murdered were hanged or beheaded. she knows that none would accept such solutions here]
Yes, I think that would be for the best. It cannot hurt to take precautions and I would be grateful for any assistance you could provide.

I'm afraid I don't know much about demons, unfortunately. So I can't offer more wisdom as far as this situation goes. But do let me know if I might be of use.
[Text]
I don't know a great deal about them, either. There are no such things in Westeros. The best thing you likely can do is be prepared for its release and come to the defense of those the demon targets, should that happen. Which I fear it will. The demon seems to have little concept of restraint.

And if she attacks the city again, I'll be the first to stand in her way.
That matter of whether or not Caedra is a human being is kind of irrelevant. If she is human, she's a sociopath -- and sociopaths are notoriously hard to reason with. If she's not human at all, then her demonic sense of self is going to prevent her from making any permanent agreement with the rest of us.
I don't know the long-term solution to this problem, but I do think that discussion on that topic needs to continue -- on the off-chance that there is a solution. The only hopeful note I can think of is that she wants to go home more than she wants anything else. I think I can verify that, because I've spoken with her an number of times. [ Not that these encounters were exactly friendly, but only one of them was violent, and that was deliberate, with the goal of providing Rage with the energy to give a few people magical sails for the expedition. ]
However, I agree that we need a plan for the short term. She's going to be mad as hell when she unfreezes, and I suspect that whoever froze her will be only her first target. I hope that that person will make himself or herself known, because they're going to need some protection, unless they're fairly powerful. And that plan must include protecting others as well, as best we can.
video
It's not me I'm afraid for, but I thank you.
[her voice turns a bit pleading] Do be careful. I know it's terribly dangerous.
[and now it turns bitter] The so-called gods will never let it leave. It provides feasts for Fear, Sorrow, Rage, and Confusion, they'll never give that up. It could kill us all and still they would do nothing unless it attacks them directly. The only ones they care about are themselves. We are disposible.
I wouldn't count on the person responsible stepping forward. Town sentiment seems to be against them. It's possible that some of the demon's "friends" might avenge themselves upon him even before the thirty days are over. I wish I had any idea, any idea of who it was. But I can't even think of anyone with ice magic, let alone ice magic powerful enough to contain the demon.

Why not just give her what she wants when she finally gets out, if she even does, and hand her the one who invoked her wrath to deal with the consequences themselves. After all if they were strong enough to do this in the first place...surely they could finish the job.
[ Yes good job Starscream just throwing people under the bus as usual. ]
It's not our problem that someone decided to do that to her. No one asked for it to be done, so why bother even making plans to prepare for something like that?
( text; )
There's no guarantee of that. Yes, they were able to beat the demon once, but we cannot know for certain they'd be able to do it again. It's best not to risk it.
[yes, she's very impressed. he'd fit in nicely on Cersei's hand-picked Small Council]
The demon could very easily make it our problem. Better to plan in advance for the worst case scenario and at least have a plan than sit on our hands for the next thirty days and accomplish nothing.
Video
[He doesn't sound particularly enthused about this though. He kind of considers Caedra a friend.....yeah, Leo needs a better class of friends. But he knows that she's dangerous and a sinner. Both are reasons enough to take her out.]
Video
[she sounds earnest. and she would be his friend. he's already made a strong case for being friendship worthy by proving himself willing to step in should it be necessary]
