Hello, everyone! I wanted to remind you that the Sewing Shop is open and ready for business here on the North Island. I can make a wide variety of clothing or embellish that which you already have. You have only to ask.

The only price is that you have to obtain a bolt of fabric from Tranquility in exchange. All manners of fabric are welcome as are all colors.

One of your friends, Party Poison, has approached me about making clothing for all of you. He's already paid in advance, so all you need to do is come over so I can take your measurements and talk to you about what you would like to have.

Finrod is one of my cousins, you haven't met him. Specifically, he's the eldest son of father's youngest half-brother, Arafinwe, who sits on the Noldoran's throne in Tirion in Valinor the Blessed, for he turned back, rather than continue towards Middle-earth. But Finrod and his siblings had the hunger for new worlds in their blood - Finrod especially! And they kept going, taking Finrod as eldest to be their lord. In Middle-earth, finally, something of the wanderlust he had always shown was finally slaked, and he had great friendship of the various folk that we encountered. Nargothrond was his stronghold, and he built it in the caverns of Narog by the river of that name. The dwarves helped him delve it, and great was the friendship that grew between them - enough that to this day folk know him as Felagund, after the dwarvish Felak-gundu - Master of Caves, a title given to him by his dwarvish friends. It was, by all accounts a very beautiful city, but it was a hidden one, built into the caves.

It sounds as though it must be beautiful. Far from the caves we lived in. Far from this place, either. Do you know, my house is on the opposite side of the Shop? So inconvenient.

[bythewaves]

One of the wonders of it's time. [ Maglor nods ] Although not as beautiful as Menegroth, by all accounts, but I always preferred Nargothrond myself.

[ Not least because his only memories of Menegroth are covered in blood and fire ]

That rather is! [ He shakes his head ] Are you managing well enough?

You seem to have so many beautiful places in your world. I would love to be able to see them myself. Perhaps when Sorrow gets the Door stabilized, I'll get to.

[yes, that would rather be a deterrent]

Yes, I suppose. The commute is a bit of a pain, though.

[bythewaves]

A lot of the old places are lost now. [ He says wistfully ]

Nargothrond before Beleriand was drowned in the Sea was overrun, and became a dragon's hoard. They are all beneath the waves now - Nargothrond and Menegroth, the green fields of the Gap and misty Hithlum, the great dwarven kingdoms of Belegost and Nogrod... Himring stands still about the waves, but Maedhros' great keep is nought but ruins, now.

But still there are many fair places in Middle-earth, e'en though the glory of the elder days is passed. I would like you to see them, if we ever have the chance.

[ He chuckles softly at that ]

You could set up a room above the shop? [ He suggests ]

That's terrible. Such beauty, lost to your world forever. It's not right.

I hope that we'll be allowed to visit other worlds when all is done. I would like you to show yours to me.

I couldn't do that! I'd miss everyone from home far too much.

[bythewaves]

It is what it is, I suppose. [ He shrugs ] Time moves on, in all places.

Much that once was now is not, and never will be again

[ He sings the line, low and sweet and sad ]

But I would like to show you the golden woods of Lothlorien before they fade forever, and the sun rising over the White Tower of Echtelion in Minas Tirith, where the White Tree blooms. I hope it will be so.

We can all visit!

I suppose. In time, even keeps like Winterfell and Storm's End and Dragonstone will fall.

[his singing always affects her]

I would love for you to show them to me. They both sound beautiful. May we have the chance.

Time moves on, irregardless of our wishes. [ He nods and smiles ]

I hope we will!

It does indeed. [she says ruefully]

As do I. The so-called gods have put us through enough nonsense. They owe us for the troubles.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor snorts in agreement ]

Sadly, I don't think our captors think of it that way.

[roseofthetyrells]

It's too bad what they think. Eventually, they'll have to face the reality of the situation they've placed us in.

[bythewaves]

Aye - they show poor understanding of how we think, tis true! I spoke to the Lady Ravine, and she agrees, and she is more akin to them than we!

[roseofthetyrells]

Poor understanding would be putting it mildly. It's as though they've never interacted with anybody who wasn't subordinate to them.

[bythewaves]

I don't think they have. [ Maglor muses ] We don't know the relationship of the original inhabitants of these worlds, of course, but considering how they style themselves, and how they behave... well. I think we can make educated guesses. And if someone keeps telling you you're a god... well. I think most people would eventually just run with it.

[roseofthetyrells]

Nor do I. [she states] I would dearly love to know more of their previous inhabitants, what their ability to . . . . perceive reality was. If they understood what the true nature of their role was.

[bythewaves]

Even so. [ He sighs ] I wish there was some record kept, but we will have to continue muddling through, I suppose.

[roseofthetyrells]

Even if there were a record kept, we likely wouldn't be able to read it. [she sighs as well] Is there any other option? I wouldn't trust anything the so-called gods said of them.

[bythewaves]

Depends on how they kept it - but yes, there's a good chance it would take a good deal of interpretation. [ Maglor agrees and shakes his head ]

Sadly, the only other source of information is the Null, and I trust them not either.

[roseofthetyrells]

Nor I. They'd kill us as soon as look at us. So I suppose we're--stuck.

[bythewaves]

For now. [ He murmurs, looking up instinctively, searching for a star he knows is not there ]

Only for now.

[roseofthetyrells]

Only for now. [she repeats and reaches over to squeeze his hand]

If only for now didn't seem to last so terribly long.

[bythewaves]

It always does. [ He squeezes back ]

But day will come, one day. Let us hope the morning comes soon!

It has to. I would love to see it happen.

[bythewaves]

I think we all would! But until that day, we will just have to manage as best we can.
