Video 8 - Sewing Shop
[the video opens on Margaery sitting neatly in a chair, wearing one of her usual gowns with her sword sitting on her lap. for those with practiced eyes or those who know Margaery well, they will be able to tell that her smile is still strained and not entirely meeting her eyes, but it's still bright and beautiful just the same]
Hello, everyone! I wanted to remind you that the Sewing Shop is open and ready for business here on the North Island. I can make a wide variety of clothing or embellish that which you already have. You have only to ask.
The only price is that you have to obtain a bolt of fabric from Tranquility in exchange. All manners of fabric are welcome as are all colors.
Thank you and I hope to see you soon!
[filtered to the Killjoys cast]
One of your friends, Party Poison, has approached me about making clothing for all of you. He's already paid in advance, so all you need to do is come over so I can take your measurements and talk to you about what you would like to have.
[filtered to Eleven (and Wash)]
I have a few surprises for you. Come over whenever you like and I'll have them ready for you.

action
You came to me in my dreaming, and you know my sins and turn me not away. [ He says softly ]
Those are kindnesses that I have had little of, outside of my kin, and they do help, a good deal. So thank you, Margaery.
action
I'm--I'm happy to help. In any way I can. Never doubt that.
action
Thank you. [ His voice leaves no doubt of his sincerity ]
Truly, Margaery. You do. Mortals. You're all so bright, and kind... we Quendi... we don't, we can't forget. And the lash of memory makes it very hard to be kind.
action
Perhaps that's the advantage of being mortal? We can't help but be kind as our time is so short.
action
I think that must be so. You have a better understanding of time than we do, in many ways, and especially of it's worth.
action
It's a pity I didn't learn its worth until after I died. I thought I would have an entire lifetime ahead of me.
action
action
action
I think that's just being mortal! I do as well - you should have known me in my youth! How arrogant we were, back then...
action
[her voice turns a little teasing] Oh? Arrogant? Would you have even deigned to speak with me, a mere mortal woman?
action
[ He laughs ]
But ai! I was terrible. I was the best musician in Tirion, the youngest to achieve my Mastery. I would not have given most people time of day!
action
[she arches an eyebrow] My, my. Who did measure up to your high standards?
action
He always had a wandering heart, our Findarato. He was actually supposed to be visiting Maedhros and I, at the time. Gave us all a scare when he did not come home one day after going out with the Hunt. But then, one day he came riding into the Gap, all aglow with joy and wonder.
"You'll never believe what I found", were the first words out of his mouth, the scamp! He'd found Beor and his people, the first humans to cross the mountains. Beor swore himself to Finrod's service, and his people were the first of the Edain, the Elf-friends.
[ He grins abashedly ]
Elenmmire of Valmar, mostly. She was my music tutor, and only in Echtelion of the Fountain and Daeron of Doriath have I ever heard a flautist to match her.
action
How wonderful! To have met one another and have it go so well! Are the descendants of Beor and his people still there?
Sounds like a terribly high standard to meet.
action I am so sorry Margaery keeps getting all these info dumps
They came back with him, yes, Beor and his family, and they settled in Estolad, in the lands guarded by my youngest brother, and later in Dorthonion. They were a dark-haired and stocky people, stalwart and loyal to a fault, and they suffered great losses for that loyalty - like the Haladin after them, they were almost wiped out by the end of the First Age. Their descendants though, mingled with the other two houses and became the Nuemoreans, the Dunedain of the Third Age. After them came the House of Haleth, the Haladin, stern and dark haired but few and reclusive, they were a proud people who ill-liked being beholden to others. The last house was the House of Marach, later the Hadorians. They were the most numerous, tall and golden haired, fair and valiant. Not all of them went to Numenor, where they mingled with the other two houses, and from those who remained would come such folk as the Rohirrim, the Horselords.
We had other allies too, late come over the mountains, and Bor of the Easterlings served my brother and I loyally, but many of his tribesfolk were not so, and Uldor betrayed us in the battle of Unnumbered Tears, and the Easterlings are no longer friends with the descendants of the Edain. Which is a pity, truly, for Bor was loyal to his own death and that of his sons and many of his people.
action it's okay! I don't know most of it, so it's all new and interesting to me!
...the battle of Unnumbered Tears. I can only assume that it was a tragedy. Battles in my world don't tend to have such names. Usually, they're named for whatever piece of land or river was nearby, such as the Battle of the Trident where Robert Baratheon and his war hammer defeated Rhaegar Targaryen and went on to take the throne himself.
<3 <3 <3
[ He makes an agreeing noise ]
It... would have been our greatest triumph, if it had worked. It was all our strength and art, all the allies we could call. But when it failed, it failed utterly and our strength was broken. We lost our King, and almost the entiriety of his household and his army, most of our lands... the losses were horrifying. It was the beginning of the end, for us.
<3 <3 <3!
[she takes a moment to let that absorb]
I'm so sorry. From what little I know of your culture, it sounds like a terrible loss. And Middle Earth will be far poorer for it as well.

Without Fingon's leadership, the alliance split apart. Turgon was High King, but he retreated to Gondolin and shut the gates, and since no one knew where it was...
[ He shakes his head ]
Nargothrond closed its doors too, but it was far less secret, and once Turin had convinced them they needed to bring the fight to the Enemy the dragons came to ransack it. My brothers and I... the March was the closest lands to our Enemy, and we simply no longer had the strength to hold the Gap. We retreated to the line of the Andram Hills, but there were not enough of us to do more than try and keep the passes clear. Doriath, of course, had never opened its gates at all. The losses suffered by the dwarves was so great that they never marched willingly in alliance with any of the free peoples again, choosing to rely on the strength of their mountain halls, and the Green-elves were not ones to fight in armies to begin with.

[ He shakes his head ]
We tried. But there were too few of us - we kept them relatively open, but it cost us dear. Behind us were the refugee cities of the Falas, and the Isle of Balar, so we held the line as best we could.
no subject
[firmly, yet kindly] You tried. None can ask more of you.
no subject
They sound to be essentially beasts in yours. But ours... Glaurung wore the shape of one, yes, but no mere beast was he! He had great powers of enscorcelment, and his magics were strong and cruel. One could not meet his eyes without very great risk, and his very slime was poisonous, even discounting his flame.
[ He smiles tiredly ]
We tried. Not that anyone remembers that now, except Elrond and I.
no subject
[she reaches out to squeeze his hand]
But as long as the two of you remember, your efforts will not be in vain.

[ He adds wryly ]
It always seems to be Men who kill dragons. Some of the Hadorians once said that when Morgoth created dragons Eru gave to Men the ability to become Dragonslayers.
[ He smiles at her and squeezes back ]
Yes.

Wow. Under those circumstances, why not have a pet raptor?
That is the general consensus yes XD
Jurassic World has nothing on you guys
